NYC-based Nisa has dropped a new single in the form of ‘St. James Gate’, which comes alongside the announcement of her new EP, Time To Plant Tears. It’s a stripped back, slow-tempo tune for the most part, with simple drums powering through below her voice and a perfectly produced electric guitar. Things take a turn towards the end of the two-minute single, with brass interjections and a thick textural build becoming the focal point before ‘St. James Gate’ cuts off suddenly. She describes this as “The raging horn solo and blistering shouts over the final chorus are sobering reminders of the emotional claustrophobia of hiding.” Time To Plant Tears is released on December 2^nd, 2021. -Dan Peeke
